Michael and Edmond Navratil
The brothers were known as the Titanic orphans. They boarded the ship with their father as second class passengers under the names of Louis and Loto Hoffman. Michael was 3 years old and his brother Edmond was 2 years of age. Their father told everyone on board that he was a widower but in reality he had kidnapped the boys and was bringing them to America without their mothers consent. When it became apparent that the ship was going to sink they were put in the last lifeboat. Their father did not survive the sinking. They were taken care of women aboard the Carpathia. Since the boys could not speak English a french speaking woman took the children into her home until family could be found. With all the attention that the sinking received the boys mother finally knew where they were and sailed to New York and was reunited with her children. Michael Navratil was the last male survivor until his death at the age of 92 in 2001.
